About Us

The mission of the West High Parents and Booster Athletic Club, Inc. shall be to cooperate with the administration and staff of Davenport West High School, its athletic department, and the Davenport Community School District in promoting the highest ideals in inter-scholastic high school athletics, to honor the members of the Davenport West High School athletic squads and related support groups and student body, and to foster school spirit and the best possible sportsmanship among the members of such athletic squads, support groups, student body, parents, and fans of Davenport West High School.  

Additionally, the corporation shall seek to develop character and leadership in each participant in the athletic program, support group and student body.  The cooperation shall seek to furnish, as deemed advisable, financial support for Davenport West High School's athletic programs and the athletic programs of the Davenport Community School District and their related support groups.

                                                                                                   

 

The Athletic Booster Club is an important organization for West High School's athletic programs.  Each year our goal is to raise money to fulfill coaches requests for equipment, uniforms, or necessary items to enhance  the athletic programs.  The Booster organization supports all athletes at WHS and relies solely on fundraising to reach their goal.  The average cost per athlete per year is $105.00.   

 

To earn money the Booster members are busy selling spirit wear, working concessions at Brady Street Stadium and at West during volleyball, swimming, basketball, and wrestling seasons, hosting a weekend basketball tournament and basketball leagues, offering Sports Physicals to students, selling food at the Motorcycle Safety Awareness Ride, Fair parking, etc.  These are just a few of the activities that the Boosters sponsor and support keeping us active every month of the year.  

 

Athletic Booster Membership is also a great way to help meet the goal of fulfilling the coaching requests because the money is going right back to the athletic programs and athletes. There are many different levels you can commit to. The entry level starts at $25.00 ranging up to $145.00 which include 2 home game season passes.  If you plan to attend at least 15 home games that charge an admission fee throughout the school year the passes will pay for themselves.  A few other incentives to join are: (1) the Booster Club gives out scholarships to a select group of seniors and one criteria for this Scholarship is that the parent(s) have been an Athletic Booster member for all four years. (2) The Booster Club will provide a charter bus to an away game for any athletic team who has 80% parent Booster membership. 

 

Please consider joining the West Athletic Booster Club for the 2009-2010 school year at registration, the Fall Sports Kick-Off, Winter Sports Kick-Off, Booster Club meetings, coaches parent meetings or home games in the concession stand.  Your support is appreciated by all the student athletes, coaches, teachers and parent members.
